About the S&P 500 logo

The S&P 500 logo is the brand mark of the Standard & Poor's 500 — the index that tracks the 500 largest publicly traded companies in the United States. It's one of the most recognized symbols in finance, appearing across financial media, research reports, fintech products, and investor presentations.

The mark is built around S&P's signature red ( #D6002A). On this page you can download three color variants: a black version for clean, high-contrast use on light backgrounds, the red brand version, and a white version for dark backgrounds, photography, and reversed layouts.

Each logo comes in two formats. The SVG is a vector file that scales to any size — from a favicon to a billboard — without ever blurring, and is easy to recolor. The PNGis a high-resolution raster export with a transparent background, ideal for slide decks, social posts, and anywhere SVG isn't supported.

The S&P 500 index is published by S&P Global, the parent company. If you need the corporate brand rather than the index mark, download the S&P Global logo instead. You can also read our short history of the S&P 500.

SVG or PNG — which should you use?

SVG

Vector — infinitely scalable with no fuzzy edges. Best for websites, apps, and print, and easy to recolor with a single CSS value.

PNG

Raster with a transparent background. Crisp in slide decks, social posts, documents, and anywhere SVG isn't supported.
