About Mastercard
Mastercard runs a global payments network that processes credit, debit, and prepaid card transactions across more than 200 markets. Like Visa, it does not issue cards itself but earns fees on every transaction routed through its rails, plus a fast-growing services revenue stream across cybersecurity, analytics, and consulting. Founded in 1966 by a consortium of banks as Master Charge and renamed Mastercard in 1979, the company is headquartered in Purchase, New York and went public in 2006. It also operates the Mastercard Send real-time payments platform and has been a major acquirer in open banking, identity, and crypto-rails infrastructure.
About the Mastercard logo
The Mastercard (MA) logo is part of the Tickericons pack — a hand-crafted set of logos for every company in the S&P 500. Each logo is manually redrawn to a consistent grid, weight, and corner radius so MA sits cleanly next to other tickers in cap tables, dashboards, equity research, and fintech UI.
You get two styles: the trademark (just the symbol, ideal for grids and tight UI) and the full logo (mark plus wordmark, ideal when there's room to breathe). Both ship as scalable SVG, high-resolution PNG, and reusable Figma components.
Mastercard was added to the S&P 500 on Jul 18, 2008 and is currently classified under the Financials sector.
