About S&P Global
S&P Global is the parent company of S&P Dow Jones Indices (which administers the S&P 500, the Dow Jones Industrial Average, and tens of thousands of other indices), S&P Global Ratings (one of the "big three" credit-rating agencies alongside Moody's and Fitch), S&P Global Market Intelligence, S&P Global Commodity Insights (Platts), and S&P Global Mobility (formerly IHS Markit Automotive). Headquartered in New York City, the modern company was formed by the 2022 merger of S&P Global and IHS Markit. The combined business sits at the center of capital markets, ratings, ESG, and commodities benchmarks — including the Brent crude assessment.
About the S&P Global logo
The S&P Global (SPGI) logo is part of the Tickericons pack — a hand-crafted set of logos for every company in the S&P 500. Each logo is manually redrawn to a consistent grid, weight, and corner radius so SPGI sits cleanly next to other tickers in cap tables, dashboards, equity research, and fintech UI.
You get two styles: the trademark (just the symbol, ideal for grids and tight UI) and the full logo (mark plus wordmark, ideal when there's room to breathe). Both ship as scalable SVG, high-resolution PNG, and reusable Figma components.
S&P Global was added to the S&P 500 on Mar 4, 1957 and is currently classified under the Financials sector.
