Founded in 1988 and headquartered in San Jose, California, the company has expanded beyond chips into multiphysics simulation, computational fluid dynamics, and molecular modeling through acquisitions like AWR, NUMECA, and OpenEye. Cadence also licenses Tensilica DSP and processor IP and runs a fast-growing AI/ML business. Most of the world's advanced chips touch Cadence tools somewhere in the design flow.
